Funding Restrictions

Our giving is primarily focused on the Dallas and surrounding communities.

We do not fund:

Other private foundations
Individuals or families
Faith based organizations or initiatives where the primary purpose is to promote religious doctrine or tenets
Political organizations, political candidates, lobbyists or related organizations
Fraternal or social groups, athletic teams, bands or similar organizations
International organizations that are not qualified under the U.S. IRS regulations
Agencies that redistribute grant funds to nonprofits

Grant applications to the Hersh Foundation are by invitation only.

Mission and Focus

The mission of the Hersh Foundation is to support healthy communities with a focus on those in and around Dallas. We believe a healthy community needs:

Quality education beginning at birth and continuing throughout life
Accessible healthcare with an intentional focus on research and treatments for mental health
Leaders and organizations who understand and cultivate our democracy which values all people and points of view
Support organizations assisting those in need, and
Cultural institutions accessible to all.
